Nursery school

Nursery school groups may travel free of charge on bus & rail in the VVO area. Those accompanying nursery school groups receive no reduction.

Groups of children and schoolchildren

When groups of children or schoolchildren are travelling together, we recommend the School Group Ticket.

Groups of up to 15 people can use this ticket on the first day of use and up to 4am the next day.

Groups of up to 15 people including 2 adults or over 25 people including 3 adults can take advantage of these cheap rates.

Note

Children up to their first day of school and severely disabled persons are transported free of charge in accordance with the provisions of the Social Code Book IX (Sozialgesetzbuch - Neuntes Buch - SGB IX). Pupils up to their 15th birthday can take advantage of the reduced fares with a customer card.

Please notify the relevant transport company of your group trip at least seven days in advance, in writing or by phone.

Price level

Day tickets are available in three price levels. The price Level depends on the number of fare zones you are travelling in.


Price level A

For journeys within one fare Zone (outside Dresden fare Zone) as printed on the ticket. 


Price level B

For journeys in two adjacent fare zones as printed on the ticket.


Price level D

For journeys in the whole VVO Region.

Validity on special tourist services

Group tickets are not valid on the special tourist services.

Group tickets are available to use the Kirnitzsch Valley Tramway and the Radebeul–Radeburg and Weisseritz Valley narrow gauge railways.

There are no reductions for groups on the Bergbahns in Dresden, the Meissen city tour or the elevator in Bad Schandau.

Validity in 1st class

On local trains, group tickets are only valid in 2nd class.

The right ticket for small groups

Small group ticket

We recommend the small group ticket for small groups of up to 5 adults. This is valid for 1 or 2 tariff zones or throughout the VVO area.

Family day ticket

The family day ticket can be used as a group ticket when schoolchildren below the age of 15 are travelling together. I.e. either six children can travel together on the family day ticket or one adult plus five children, or two adults and four children.

Day ticket

The day ticket can be used as a group ticket when schoolchildren below the age of 15 are travelling together. I.e. either 3 children can travel together on a day ticket, or one adult plus 2 children.
